All of us here at the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation hope that you will tune into the esteemed and entertaining 2011 Trumpet Awards on Sunday, April 24 on TVONE.
This year's annual black-tie awards ceremony will be hosted by actors Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe and Niecy Nash honoring The Honorable Eric H. Holder, Jr., Judge Greg Mathis, The O'Jays, Reverend Al Sharpton, and many more.
The show's stellar lineup includes performances by award-winning recording artists Eric Benét, Angela Brown featuring Richard Smallwood, James Ingram, and many more of the most celebrated names in entertainment today!
As always, the Trumpet Awards will be a unique and thrilling celebration of today's extraordinary African Americans who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life for all.
But this year, this one-of-its-kind awards show is made even more special . . .
. . .our own President and CEO of the Memorial Foundation, Harry E. Johnson, Sr. was selected to receive the "President's Award" at the 2011 Trumpet Awards Gala.
"Mr. Johnson's tireless passion and relentless efforts has allowed him to ensure that the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial will not only be built on the National Mall, but dedicated as well in August of 2011 for the world to see and behold for generations to come," states Ms. Xernona Clayton, Founder, President and CEO of the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc.
As somebody who has been there with us every step of the way in helping us to construct this incredible monument in Dr. King's honor, I know that President Johnson would agree that it is also YOUR tireless passion and relentless efforts that has made our work here possible.
Thank you so much for being our partner and our friend in this noble mission, and please be sure to tune into the exciting 2011 Trumpet Awards on Sunday, April 24 on TVONE.
Sincerely,

TVOne is not on alot of extended basic cable. I do like this station better than BET. Not to make a competition comparison, I always wanted to see these awards. I just get to review the articles. There is not enough promotion to the general public of when these awards air on tv.
